<div class="IPBDescription">quick question</div> was it intentional to remove all useful function from hltv? I'm referring to : freeview spectating, using keyboard to change views, missing mouse, etc
You should be able to see most of the things on that list.
The only thing I've found missing (That you mention) is mouse-look in free view mode. You have to have arrow keys bound to look up/down and turn left/right.
You probably have a config problem if you can't use your strafe keys to cycle through players.
formatted and did a totally fresh install <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->, no its not a config problem
for some odd reason they made the old "control" menu permanently appear, thus disabling any mouse interaction which spectating (other then to change players or certain viewtypes).
Whether it's true or not is yet to be determined, but a number of people have said that they were removed to prevent people exploiting via free look (ie: checking the other team's base out). That would be a valid (while also extremely annoying) way to look at it, and it's probably the way I choose to look at it to.
Basically, it sucks for taking screenshots of areas, making "ns movies", or basically having a little fun in third person spec - but that's to be expected anyway, all new patches for everything bring in more measures of control :/
add a delay between going from spectator to joining a team then. 2 mins should put most people off, let allow legit players to come back <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Because of this there wasn't really an elegant way to get Free Look working (cause so few people have moveup, movedown, left or right bound to keys) which is why it isn't an option under the current interface.
Or more appropriately: Why can't the new 'mouse driven' interface be toggled with a key? (such as control...). Have the interface at first, hit control to make it vanish and gain control of the mouse. Hit it again to bring the control back. What's so bad about that?
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Also HLTV has a delay of 30seconds when broadcasting live if thats what you were talking about Bahumut.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I was refering to exploiting free look spectator in pub games by F4ing, joining spectators, free roaming to the alien base to sus it out then F4ing again and joining marines then informing your teammates of the current situation in the opponent's base.
The way spectator mode works is the same in HLTV and NS, so changing one would directly affect the other.
It is possible that this has something to do with the apparent lack of VGUI support NS has, though I'm pretty sure it's not... :/
Still would be better to go back to the way Counter-Strike does it.

HLTV support is a joke in it's current state.
