I'm a good commander. That's my skill. I like to command and over time, I've built up my skill enough to say I am a very good commander. Now...
We were playing ns_caged and I was commanding on the marines. I immediately sent 2 marines to pumping station and 2 to sewer vestibule. My marines at pumping station find a res node and since there couldn't have been enough time to put up the node, I assumed that their hive was Sewer. We set a siege up and I ordered all my rines over to pumping and prepared to end this quick. We got 3 sieges up and my rines went into Sewer.
"Commander, there's no hive here."
"What do you mean there's no hive?"
"I just fired at where the hive should be and there's no hive."
*sigh* That was probably the most embarassing moment I've had in NS. I don't remember what happened afterwards, but with 70 res down the drain and our not going after any other res nodes, I assume we lost.

I did not upgrade weapons, I cared for the one big group with mines welders and medpacks... instead.
Then i got phase tech+grenade launchers and dropped 3 phase gates, 2 at hives, and one in between, marines stayed alife and defended well, but not forever.
<b>I was yelling 5 minutes to phase to the hive, my team was that good outside our base that i completely forgot to put a phasegate in our base for reinforcements, not seeing the "put a phase in the base" text messages while i was yelling.</b>
Then I recycled the "in between phase" and build one in our base, shamed.
Alien team f4ed with both upgrades at level 1 and a lot of grenade launchers.

1 game I did that twice. On Eclipse, I wanted to go for a seige rush. We rushed EC, heard building, put up the siege. It was just a gorge with 2 ocs and an rt. Laffed at myself then rushed CC. My marines didn't bother to tell me there was not a hive in there, so I put up the seige again. Seiged out 3-4 oc and the rt. Then I went after the last hive because I now knew where there hive was. I think my team lmged that one down.
dont be embarrased over the net, i would be embarrased for being embarrased at makeing this stupid phrase.

They start yelling over voice comm "HE'S COMING HE'S COMING!" "FADE INC!" and stuff. So I was getting ready and then I saw the fade and I FREAKED! I started spazzed out then frantically hit the elevator, crushing my 3 marines in the process while the fade was free to go.

Try having your comm accidentally close the main aft hatch on bast while the heavy train is passing through. Good by Heavy Train! (well, about half of it)

More Mineshaft fun: the lift leading from Cafeteria makes an excellent trap for unwary Gorges...except for when they're your comrades.

My favorite is spitting the switch as gorge while heavies are passing trough.

The best for me was two fades telefragged by a pg one after another, the first one while destroying it (and it was me) and the second one (a fellow clanner) shortly after while BLINKING OVER IT.
That was creepy.

Currently my embarassment comes because of my position.. Often playing on a pub, I'll blink away from 4 marines safely while maybe taking 1 out.. But come around the corner where I'm safe ( I think) and get pistol whipped.. And of course I see on team say "Lol... Soloed a dev"
But that's ok, because it's all part of what makes NS, NS...
I wouldn't say encountering complete and utter nubs is much of a cause for embarrassment really.
I'd say the worst I can think of is my complete and utter inability to climb a ladder without falling to my doom. A bit pathetic I know... but there isn't much you can do when you don't command and play as a skulk 99.9% of the time.
