Your map doesnt look "real" or "believeable". Take a look at you screenshots for yourself. Try and imagine what a hive would actually look like. Hives wouldnt be all square, with sharp edges, they are living things. Also, try to make it look like the area wasn't infested originally, but instead the aliens took it over... Try to think about how the location would actually look, then try to match your map to that.
the take the mine and the infestation come from mine to refinary and on the metalurgy the area will be almost clean with some less infest than this and the marine start doesnt have any infest. the main think is marine start around that a almost clean rooms then arround this have some infest and then the hives.

criticism? no offense but this project looks pretty boring. I admit that to start mapping is not an easy task but noone forces you to. so I guess you have to lern A LOT before you can exspect us to "wow!" and "the sex!". from my point of view I only can see some boxes with some stuff in it, not a single thought went into such "unnecessary" basics as vising sight range, line-on-fire range, layout, gameplay etc. no offense but I cant see anything special here. sorry. like I said, you have to lern. thats the point.
when me start this topic i m remenber how to map again and now my skills is gorwing fast and after reshape alot the hole map i start make a sense to me how mapping a map so ppl said to me use brush work i start use ppl said hey use the texture lighted i start use, ppl said use vertex im learning and using, ppl said start with a room and then make another room and then make a co_map and after a ns, so im making this first room after the near ones rooms and i will end the mariens start and release the map idea in a co map and see what i have to increase and finish the ns side to map look better so im on step 1 make a room, soon will start another room and se how to enchance the both rooms better, i only say dont woorry i will arrrive there.

im readind about the map spider web track stuff and i make a layout about my map and think is a tree greatly news and long live but have a soo cross rooms ithink is very hard but the lock down point is on metalurgy like the name of the map but have auxiliary lock down points where the aliens must think in surrender after loose then the triangles or the square.
the air pressure will work like the feed water on bast. the suply siege room will work like a new kind of siege room. the suply and rest room will push alens from air purification find nodes near own hives. the no nodes hive mine and water source will push aliens to get nodes from dead lock points(metalurgy,refinary,generator).

Well obviosly in an a futuristic universe you'd need separate entrances/areas for not sexes but races. Or even different sections for races with similar 'waste disposal' requirements...!
