about these forums...
I just noticed that the off-topic forums now have more total replies than the general discussions forum does.
Well, people like myself do spam a lot in here. General is usually filled with 12 year olds talking about what engine NS2 is on of people complaining about combat or somthing.

Funny things is, I gave up going to the Gen. Disc. forums with any amount of frequency a long time ago. But even on the occaison I go back there now, I find the same topics being debated as when I left. (Or more often, just the same style and the same line of thought.)
NS seems to be doing just fine. As specially since it became part of the Browse Games list.
Plenty of people like NS. That would be all the people that post on the forum. Many of them have given up all hope that what they say on the forum will make any difference in the development of the game. So, the sections of the forum dedicated to things like that become much less active. Meanwhile, people that have been using this forum for a while don't want to simply abandon it. So, they find a place where they can discuss something, and Off Topic works out great for that.

Im still interested in NS, but discussing it is getting a bit tiresome. There seems to be a general concensus of the flaws of the game, we can only wait and see what the devs do about them.

I haven't seriously played NS for over a year now, I just like these forums because the community seems somewhat mature and interesting stuff gets discussed over here. I wander in the mapping forum once in a while to see what cool stuff has popped up, but I generally limit myself to this area.
It's quite natural that O-T areas are very populated. Some people frequent General, some frequent Customization, some frequent Mapping, some Artwork, some Servers, and so on, but a nice big chunk of all of them check into O-T ever so often.
Plus, in the vein of CWAG's and other people's statements, seeing that NS is currently in a stage of incremental improvment (or so we hope), discussion topics in General shift slowly.

Just hanging around here for NS in HL2.
