<div class="IPBDescription">that is the question</div> The past year i have played NS with vsync off giving me 100fps but should i change vsync to on?, is it better to get used to on? What is the real diffrence with it on or off?
Tryed having it on today and when i played it felt terrible it seemed like i could not hit anything as i used to do. I have my monitor on 85hz and playing with a 9800 pro flashed to an XT with "special" old openGL drivers.

What it does is synchronize the FPS at which it is displayed with your monitor's rate, which is useful in that it eliminates what's called "tearing"; which is a term describing what happens when your GFX card is sending frames to your monitor faster than it can display them.
You can notice tearing if you turn very fast and see blocks of textures on your monitor when you move your view around an area very fast.
In a lot of ways it's a cosmetic change, but one that is good to have none the less.
Say you're monitors refresh rate is set to, 80. Well if your graphics card can't go to 80fps at the time, it will just bump down to 40. It won't go inbetween. So, if your graphics card can't handle the refresh rate, it'll half it and try again.
That happened to me at least. I play with vsync off because of that.
