This situation is like this: Me and a friend are trying to get 9.0c on his computer which has 9.0b [4.09.0000.0904] and were trying to get 9.0c and it's not working, we downloaded directx_9c_redist and it runs and it takes less than a second to do the actuall install work. It still says 9.0b even after rebooting and all sorts of lovable stuff.
