I just put direct x 9.0c yesterday and played like a total nub. Hit regestering was pathetic...I had to miss on purpose to achive anything.
Maybe it's more settings I got to take care of. I use net graph and don't seem to have too much packet lost, well I think I do, I'm not really sure how to set everything.
I'll put my config and autoexec maybe you guys see something wrong in it...
I really don't know what to do, I almost cried yesterday thinking to myself I should never touch the ns scene again. But the game's too good!

I play in 1280x1024 so my max fps is 75.
Maybe its ex_interp or something like that, I'm not sure what it is.
But maybe I should go back to direct X 9.0a or 8.0

If you think that DirectX is being a pain, then go to "run" in the start menu and then type "dxdiag", hit enter, save the info as a .txt file (there's a button for that), and then attach it to your next post. I won't even pretend to know where to look in that huge volume of info, but I'm sure somebody around here does.
If anybody else has 9.0c, then now would be the time to speak up and compare system data. Just out of my own curiosity, how long ago did that come out of testing?
I got direct x from typing directx 9.0c in google.
I'll seach the forums etc for ex_interp...
edit/yeah in open gl, and I just found 3 virus in my pc, maybe a cause
And as for getting the virii... punching something into Google, downloading it from a non-trusted site and immediately running it is boneheaded.

And if you are using openGL there should be no effect on your game play in NS. Keep your cl_updaterate over 60 too
I'll keap my cl_updaterate higher but my cl_updaterate I have to leave it on 15 or else I get a ms count on my net graph, I think thats what I'm supposed to do.

Yeah it does depend, is it me or some ppl are harder to hit than others, like if they had a smaller hit box. Moving or not moving.
Even I sometimes seem harder to hit, like ppl will say : wow, your bs yada yada.
Then I get like 20:1 kill ratio and next game I get like 1:2 ratio and feel like I'm "bigger".
Shouldn't rates be server side and ajusted to the client automaticly?
