I agree with Mr. Marik Steele on this one... Squad command, headcrabs and first person shooters, oh my!
Would love to know what the symbols above the squad member's symbols are though... In another screenshot one was red, i'm assuming that means he's wounded.
Finally got some new damn screenshots. I was beginning to think the entire game took place in a bus station, moved into a street where you fight 500 striders, then drive around a lakebed and finally cruise around on a swampboat.
Like I said before 'meh'. The character models look good (And they really need to hire someone who can actually design hands. One guy's thumb is 5 inches long and seems to have only 3 fingers. The underground squad seems to have a REALLY blocky looking arm and hand on the right side.) and half of the Alyx face shots are ugly as hell, but I'm still not really impressed by the maps. Namely, the terrible foliage and reliance on 'textured terrain' instead of real terrain detail.
Also, the lighting is still bad. The underground milita shot - there's a lit bulb nearly two feet in front of the medic, yet the bulb on the far side of the room is projecting the most visible shadow? A zombie burning like a bonfire barely casts any light?
I'm also dissapointed in how horribly low-poly a lot of the objects are (The swampboat for one, the truck in another). The shot of the Monk or the Priest or whoever the hell he is - the shotgun he's carrying looks like it's got a horribly low-res texture on it, the boxes of ammo are literally cubes with an ammo texture.
I'm also wondering why everyone is wearing huge thick coats but Alyx is walking around like it's early summer...
But maybe I'm just bitter because I'm sick of Valve's lies and BS.

A year and a day later, and I've completely lost interest. The physics are neat, sure but hardly worth buying a $50+ game over. They don't even use kinetic bullets for gods sakes. Another big one? Battlefield 2. Ask around and there's a huge crowd that says it'll be the best game of all time. I've been around the proverbial block enough times to know that the EA title on it means to knock an automatic 20% off any score it gets. 30% if it's a Battlefield game...

Most of your critisms are really nitpicky. When you actual play games, you generally dont notice tiny flaws like finger length.
It's just a dropship in general, it can carry more than just Striders.
