I might no longer have respect for Rooster Teeth Productions after this. From RvB to now this, how does that happen? It wouldnt be so bad, and I would think if anyone could do it RTP could, but even the intro video, that horrible music, the characters... I think I'm gonna hurl. I'm sure its a fine game but as a machinama, how about um ,yeah, NO!

is the new address, whenever it finally comes up. Stupid lying Gamespot!
Personally, I'll hold my judgement until I see what they do with it. They're toning it down to a 'teen' level, for language and violence, just as the game.
You've got a long-standing producer of machinama who is well-respected in their field. At least do them the favor of giving their new series a shot before badmouthing it.
Personally, I love the idea. The post they made explaining it is right, Sims 2 comes with some rather nice video recording tools and the new setting allows for many jokes that just don't work in a supposed-military setting.
So they've started work on a new project, so what? Even if they'd decided to ditch RvB, fine... you honestly expect them to stick in the same genre forever?
The Sims offers them much greater creative freedom and the ability to orchestrate detailed interactions... instead of simply turning and pointing a gun at the person they're talking to.

Uh ok, good for you? Have you seen the trailer, cause Im judging its "suckiness" off that and yeah it does look sucky. But you need to get all defensive about the Sims 2 huh? That'll make you even more popular I guess? Is it that bad that when I call machinama based on it bad you immediatley feel the need to jump at by me because you are someone who apparently likes Sims 2 over Halo. More creativity? thats definately debatable and I never said they were stopping RvB did I? Thanxs for putting words in my mouth though. I wonder how long this will actually last, if the series is as good as episode 0 I give it a season at best.

honestly, RvB is nothing special cinematography waise. However the scripts are friken briliant.
I trust them to beable to continue writting good scripts, and that is all that counts.
Specialy seeing how as I dislike sims and halo about equaly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Without dialogue I'd say you are complaining about it simply because it is the sims. Lets imagine Red vs Blue with absolutely zero dialogue shall we?
*Turns gun towards person* *turns gun towards hill* *runs over to hill* *humour! the tank is upside down!*.
Hm?

I've never played the Sims, any of them. I also quite like Halo, including the multiplayer. I "jump at you" because you seem to have made a snap reaction (I know next to nothing about this, but I shall complain about it anyway!), with poor logic (I'm losing all respect for the team based on this!).

You don't think it will allow for more creativity? The ability to create many variations of characters, both regular characters and random appearances, along with all of the animations included to make the characters actually -do- things... as opposed to turning around and looking up and down. The ability to stage it in many different locations and easily generate their own. The built in features allowing them to record exactly as they'd like to. You honestly think this is debatable? You honestly think Halo allows for more?

I'd say "From RvB to now this" implies that you thought it would be taking its place, this is compounded by the fact that your are getting extremely angry about it, why? I can't see any reason why you would become so irritated if you were free to ignore it and it doesn't actually affect the original RvB. However, on this point I stand corrected, even though I didn't actually accuse you of anything at all.

Almost ALL of RvB is in the dialogue... without the dialogue in this "episode 0" how can you know <u><b>ANYTHING</b></u>? Are you judging it completely on graphics?
It does look like something out of a sims trailer, and
the characters, aside from a few exceptions, look extremely
typical and boring.
I just hope the theme song/starting credits thingy was a pardy,
since otherwise it seriously looks like just another sitcom.

Short of making them hideously deformed or dressing them in strange apparel (which they could do, but are most likely going to use these in specific episodes... otherwise it would get old fast) human characters aren't going to look particularly remarkable. Again it's completely about the personalities, situations and actions... which you wont have seen yet at all.
As an aside: The website is now live again.
I think I'll just wait for the first episode until I give my verdict, since it is,
after all, from the creators ov RvB. Everyone loves RvB.
EA just manages to keep my expectations from rising too high.
don't think of it as EA
think of it as the RvB guys doing something else.
If you mean soar, then yes.
Microsoft isn't as bad as linux geeks make it seem.
It's just that they abuse their monopoly, doesent mean they make bad programs or games.
The Sims 2 has some pretty interesting production capability. I don't have the creativity to make good use of it myself, so I'm curious what other people will do with it. I'm eagerly awaiting a real episode.
You...
You...
*falls over laughing*
There's no doubt from the intro that Sims2 is going to give them a ton of filming options; certainly more than Halo does. And on top of that, it's the RT team. There's going to be some crazy **** going down in this show, and it's going to make you laugh your *** off.
There's a brief description of the new show on redvsblue.com. It's not going to be a sitcom; it's going to be a *parody* of a sitcom. And as such, I think it has near-limitless potential. I can't wait for Episode 1. ^^
Let's wait to see an actual episode before passing judgement...
I love rooster teeth with all my heart, I have high expectations for this.
You haven't heard a single joke from that thing you can't tell it will suck.
I wonder how the will make the chars move their mouth....

Don't they have a "talk" action?
You sould show them using the gestures and whatnot, perhaps not actually show MOUTHS(So you don't realize the char is speaking simlish), and you'd get the illusion of talking.

RvB will always kick it's **** though
It was <i>really</i> good.
