I have had a smiliar problem, but it was being caused by a keylogger (trogan/virus) I suggest you also do a full scan of your hdd for trojans/viruses and let me know whats up.

i have ball mouse.
i think have norton running sumthing in the background.
i don't think i have a virus cause i just reformated this comp.
could it be lag related?
If its only the mouse thats dragging, IMo it has to be cpu lag related not server/connection wise.
Again, just try turning everything off, under ctrl-alt-del
end task to everything but systems and explorer.exe ect I'm sure you
know about all that though.
come back and tell me how it worked out

tried, didn't work
its never done this b4, and my computer can play hl alrite.
Could it be WinXP internet firewall? I had this problem awhile back with ZA firewall...
the mouse is fine in the console and in windows but it gets choppy (the aim) and doesn't respond if i'm shotting lerks and other aliens.
Also, it could be your video- card. What are your system specs including your vid card?
firewall off didn't help.

told him to do everything you lsited already. He said nothing helped <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Only thing I didnt tell him to do was try a new mouse <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
and if the new mouse doesnt work, dont reinstall ns, delete the whole steam and do a complete reinstall of everything.
I think it has something to do with programs running in background...
Like when someone logs on to msn, the mouse lag starts.
But even with all other applications closed, I can still get the lag, but not as much as when the programs would be running
I have a wireless optical mouse and use AVG, adaware and spybot, so meh =/

thats your problem chaos, wirless optical mouses are bad for gaming unless its a very high pricey one up in the 100+ dollar area, trust me I know <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But this only appeared since b5.
Mice start going nuts if you don't change their batteries frequently. Try that.

PS: How much fps do you get? I get about 10 in rine start . 4 in gun fights in rine start and 12-30 anywhere else and im using al the low settings from that CS fps post someone made <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
i have what could be called a similar problem, but only occurs in the ready room... when a game ends or something, and everybody gets moved to the RR, my view will suddenly and randomly rotate 180degrees in an instant... this happened on 2 mice ive used and it only happens a couple of times. wonder if its something game related?
Deleted. Fixed.
Thankz guys.
