Reccomend Me A Router
I've been looking at Getting a Wireless Router, and 1 PCI reciever.
I was going to go for a Netgear one, but they aren't too easy to find in these parts.
<a href='http://www.usr-emea.com/products/p-networking-product.asp?prod=net-8054&page=overview&loc=emea' target='_blank'>This</a> is the one i've been leaning towards.
I'm look for a 54/108 Mbps one, only for linking 2 computers(one will be wired in) and maybe networking the 2

Has open source firmware. Nuff said.
Other than that, most of the consumer models don't differ much from each other.
I recommend ZyXEL for network equipment.
I had a netgear router for 2+ years no hangups, no freezing. ( you know having to restart it ect.) it was simply amazing.
edit: btw I had linksys and it was the worst ever. It always froze up on me

i can't get a netgear one unless i order it from the UK, and i'm(my parents actually) not too keen on getting one from the UK, as it would be hard to return if it didn't work

So true.
Followed firmware update *to the letter*, with *their firmware*, for *that model*. It didn't reboot, they weren't interested in taking a look at it. :|
Plus the existing firmware crashed whenever you dared use Netmeeting or MSN Audio.
(Skype is much better anyway, but I digress.)

3com would be my recommendations. They're reliable and work well. I've only used one briefly, but I know many people who swear by them.
My Netgear hub does the job, (and has done for about 4 years,) but it's nothing special. HUBs generally have pretty generic performances.
Linksys... :s Mixed feelings.

WIRELESS! NOOOOOOOoooo...
Is laying a few Cat5e cables that hard? I had no prior networking exerpience and still headed all my cables find first time without use of a crimp. I'm sure you will do the same.
Benifits:
Faster
More secure
Cheaper (Most motherboards have onboard LAN, but not Wireless, and cables cost less than that. Well, for shortish distances)
Works over longer distances and is not affected by interference.
Drawbacks:
Wires may standout
May cost more at long distances, but at least you will get a signal
HTH
(If you want advice on wiring a home LAN I'd be more than willing to help.)
IT DOSN'T MATTER.
I have yet to see a single brand get routinly slamed.
If you look through this thread you can see one post some one will flame A tout B, some one some one else will flame B and tout C etc etc
I use linksys and would recomend it my self simply b/c it is the most common router (thus simplest to get tech help for).
