For those curious, it plays like a typical "text adventure" - you get choices of locations to go to and actions to perform or things to say. There's also some 'combat,' but if I remember right it's mostly just about aiming and timing. There are multiple endings and such - if you're curious, I'm sure you can find descriptions somewhere on the net.
It wasn't bad as far as games go, as long as you're a big enough Eva fan to actually care <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
As far as plot goes, it was alternate-timeline. Mana's a new student at the school, the 'regular' pilots are suspicious of her liking Shinji (as a cover for her spy work on NERV), blah blah... something like that. It's been a long time.
Are you refering to NGE or Bebop in any case both are good imo <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> NGE.
I dispised every single one of the characters, none of them had a single redeeming feature. Because of that it left me not giving a **** about what happened to them, and generally rejoicing in any misfortune that may occur. Out of the main ones, Shinji was a whiner, a bad whiner, and entirely irritating, Rei was completely soulless and dull and Asuka was entirely self-absorbed and detestable. I hated them all. Good, let them die, bastards.
And the pseudo-philosophical crap at the end (which occurs in both the normal series ending and end of eva) was entirely pointless. Were they hoping that they'd be considered deep and intelligent or something? I think from about episode 19 onwards the series was virtually unwatchable because both the characters and the overzealous writer took anything that made it enjoyable and tore it all out. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Actually, if you cared to go through it a few more times, you'd see that whole psuedo-psychological crap, as well as the Biblical Prophecy crap, was infused into the entire series, but much more subtely. I myself Loved evangelion, and found a redeeming quality in everyone: Shinji had a heart, Asuka had Determination, Rei had Intelligence, Kaoru had insight, Kaji had wisdom, Misato had Wisdom in everything but her relationship with Kaji, as well as Determination, as well as a heart(all of which not being as strong as it is in the other characters), Gendou was misunderstood, Yui was VERY misunderstood(people believed her to be almost an angel in the good sense- but we find in the manga, as well as several backstory books, she was quite the little devil in her intentions.), Touji had love, Kensuke, while stupid, was very good at comforting people, and finally, Hikari was the loveable girl-next-door except with a brain.
I loved the series myself- hence the sig. Been a fan since I saw it, and knew after the 1st episode, it was a big deal. Knew after the 3rd it was the best I'd seen- and so far, it still hasn't been beat(Cowboy Bebop takes 2nd, though only for the last 2 episodes. Their all great, but those last 2 catapult it into godlike status).
Actually when I say I liked NGE, I really mean I loved the movie and thought the series was sort of okish. I personally thought EP19 was the best out of all of them <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> But then, the movie wouldn't have the same impact unless you'd seen the series.
And yes, all the characters except Kaji suck. Especially Shinji and Asuka in the dubbed version.... ugh....
I didn't really like any of the characters... I mean, I liked NGE in a weird way; I came away from it feeling depressed. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
