Super duper dumb question-im retarded
yea like the title says

b/c suddenly I forget...
i was looking around my PC trying to find stuff I can get rid of...

I have my origional
C:\SIERRA folder with hl, cs, tod, dod, cs, ts, and ns in there.

then I have my

C:\Program Files\Steam folder

soo.. Can I delete my C:\SIERRA Folder?
and all the crap in there and save myself 1.8 gigs?

I think I can, in fact im 99% sure I can but I just wanted to be extra super sure before I accidentaly shoot myself in the foot here.

Thanks

Your Sierra folder has nothing to do with Steam and is perfectly safe to delete.

    Ok thanks pulse!

Unless you have custom models, sprites, sounds, etc installed you wont see anything. its jsut default in there. If you want to use custom stuff you have to go into your steam folder in cs and manualy make a Models, Sprites etc folder and then stick them in.

Then Steam will use your custom stuff automatically over the default ones.

If you then erase the folders steam will automaticaly revert back to default stuff.

    PS
Pulse I can stil play normal hl single player through steam then right?

Not only can you play Single Player Half-Life, but you can even play it in different languages (if you decide to, you know, change your Steam language). You can even get the censored German robot version thing.

I just have trouble using some obscure 3rd party mods that lack multi-player with it...but I suppose it wont really matter to you . But if you do level editing, you might want to at least keep the valve folder and just delete your mods so you can still load HL through the old way.

That's because all of it is stored in the gcf files in the steamapps folder.

They're all in cached .gfc files or something or other.
