But the DS has LAN and Wifi access. So basically if I'm in Australia, and you're in the US and we have wireless connections. We can play.
There's been references to daisy chaining connections on top of that.
You -> Internet -> Wireless hotspot -> Guy with DS -> Guy with DS -> Guy with DS -> Guy with DS -> Guy you're playing with.

Hence wifi capability. It's all so very very very awesome. If you and him can access a wireless connection you can play with anyone.
One of the cooler features is that the DS has inbuilt memory and what they can do is, you wander into a game store and they're having a promotion for a new DS game coming out... Oh I dunno... Smash Bros DS. They can broadcast a DEMO of the game over wifi with either a timer, or when you leave the wifi area to stop you (Which I doubt will be used because of the daisy chaining feature) So you're there contemplating picking up Smash Bros DS and you can have a test try IN THE STORE before you buy it.
Now excuse me for my french, but that's a f***load better than having instore systems setup that can only be used by one person.
