Freaking rediculous. I can accept the fact that aliens have a steeper learning curve before mastering, but WHY OH WHY should it take SO MUCH MORE EFFORT to work against a group of marine turrets than it does for marines to work against the aliens <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->
Its simply rediculous, it would be nice if players at least had the OPPORTUNITY to have an equal chance against each other's defenses.
This is about the only aspect of the game I see which is incredibly broken. Marines can turtle up as much as they damn well please and can hold an area indefinitely, all they have to do is slowly encroach further and further upon your territory. If aliens turtle, they die. Their static defense is THAT weak. They try to expand, they die to barracades of turrets.

The fact that the resource system is screwed means all this "turrets are unbalanced" talk = useless.
The <b>reason</b> your seeing so many turrets is because there are <b>too many resources</b>. Period.
It has nothing to do with a building limit. <b>Nothing</b>.
Once the resource system is fixed, you <b>can't</b> place 10 turrets into a room because it will simply <b>cost too much</b>.
Other than that, and the near impossibility of breaking through Heavy armor, I'd say we're 5 by.
