Game Freezes Rig

Hello,

yesterday my friend got me to play NS, i went through the install and everything went fine, played for about an hour then i had a problem, NS will crash my computer, mouse wont move or anything but i still see the last frame from the game

- 2700+ AMD athlon
- Sound: crystal SoundFusion
- GFX: ati radeon 9600xt
- RAM: crucial 512 mb pc2100
- Windows XP pro
- Tried it in openGL and D3d, still crashes, 1280x1024
- no eax
- CS
- Steam
- 3.0 beta 5

I get the same thing happening, wen i start it up again i get a Bad parse in client commands error... any solutions???

tried basic troubleshooting yet? stuff like updating windows, updating drivers etc etc?

even re-installing ns? can you ctrl+alt+del to the task manager and end task? or does it render ur pc frozen until u hit the reset button?

im thinking maybe sound card problem? but christ knows really! post back with answers to these q's and maybe some more ppl can help.

Right wen it freezes up i can alt+tab then ctrl+alt+delete so i can close it but if i dont catch it within about 2 seconds it completely freezes. al new soundcard with drives and new drivers for everything on my computer so i dont think thats the problem and i already tried reinstalling ns...

i couldnt minimize or do ctrl+alt+del, but i did make it so i could, changed the rates to 9999 and all is fixed
