Can't connect to various servers....

<div class="IPBDescription">Help...</div>This happens about half the time I connect to a multi game,not only in NS, but in FA, CS, and everything else I play. After finding a server in gamespy, I double click and enter one.then the usual lines pop up:
Connecting to XXXXXXXXX
trying to authenticate with won servers
authentication succeded
connection accepted by xxxxxxxxx
Build Server XXXX
XXXXXX
anyways, I wait for about 5 mins but then the computer stops loading, and I am forced to press ESC and abort.
This happens about half the time i try to connect to a server. has anyone else experience this problem and solved it? It is really starting to #### me off.
