Just A Quick Nubbish Question

about irc
Was thinking about trying to set up an irc channel for the Operation flashpoint clan im in as there's about 30+members and they only use msn for group conversations at the moment, none of them know what irc is really
Thing I was wondering about tho was; cos roughly half the clan is split between the UK and Australia would it be a problem setting up a channel on quakenet or would that be a problem for the aussie part of the clan? Quakenet is the only irc server i have really had an experience with but as far as I know they only have US, UK, German and Swedish servers so would the clan members from Australia have any probs connecting to quakenet? I only wonder because when I have on occasion use a US quakenet server I get booted and told to use a UK one
Or is there another irc server that I should maybe use?
