<div class="IPBDescription">- when you have hundreads of them</div> I was just wondering how does one store their passwords when you are following the convention "don't use one password for everthing" and "change your passwords often". It becomes HARD especially when you have 101 username and passwords.
One method I heard that a a certain university IT department uses is to write down all their username/passwords in a card. But because the passwords and usernames are quite indistinct (not using human-readable words, ie p@$$word), when an outsider looks at it, he/she wont know wat it all means.
I was thinking of using a program password manager but I don;t those can be really be safe.

me too.
For my hotmail account I have an extremely long and unguessable password and most of my passwords for other stuff (forums etc) are in emails in there so if I forget one/format I just jump in there and get them all back again.
I hope to god your joking.
And to get slightly more on topic I just use like 1 or 2 passwords alternating for all my stuffs.

But that's not the "gaben" format, it's first name, then the first letter of your last name. So it'd be "jakem," which is pretty cool I'd say.

eg,
if the base password was 'password'
I might use
passwordx1 for ns.org
passwordx2 for /.dotorg
passwordx3 for something.com
