actualy pick up all the drops?

if you are desperate, sell some ores.

oh, and as a note, both Thansal, and Thael will be online ALOT the next 2 days as my weekend is here! (well, after this 9 hr work day it will be here)

um, how much are ores actually worth? people have offered to buy them at pretty high prices (about 4-8x as much as you get at the store), but i wonder if i'm getting jacked.

welll... you might've noticed a few NPCs around offering to give you stuff. What they do is craft items for you using those ores and leathers and stuff.
Most crafted items <b>cannot</b> be bought in stores so they're usually sought after by most =3

ores can be refined into materials, and materials can be used to make various equiptment. Each town has some stuff it can make, which is naturally connected with what job you can get in it. eg. Staff and wands in Ellinia, bows in that wierdo bowtown and so on.

    With no pance!

In any case, got to thank Cold-NiTe a lot for the steel and some leather. Finally got my claw!
    GrainSiloX ftw!

Bad thing about the game is that there are h4xx0rs. There's on I witnessed in the jumping puzzle area where a guy used jump h4x. Flew all the way to the top.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    You finally got the claw! Ownage. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Oh yeah, I remember you talking about that guy. I'm fer hoping that he's just using scrolls to boost his abilities. Maybe you should buy some too, to get your steel faster. If he really his hacking that, then shame on him, where is the fun in that. I said it before and I'll say it again, the reason these RPG's are MMO is because they are social games. People who just go around leveling by themselves WILL be bored for the most part; there are of course exceptions.

    ---------
GWAHIR!!! Come <i>on</i> you waaay better than that. Here you are making the same nublar mistake I did. Save some of your Attribute Points at all times, just in case. If you spend them all as soon as you get them, then when you find out that you don't meet a requirement of some kind, you can't immediately dump the extra points in and meet the requirement...

You better not pull that when you hit level 30 and want to take your next job advancement... That would be killer. Go save your attribute points; I COMMAND THEE!

In fact, it sucks. Ok, it was fun for the first 10 minutes. And the last 10 minutes when I ran naked through the town dropping 10 point coins as everyone chased me. But if that's the most fun thing there is to do in this game... boooooooooooo! <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you had actually read the thread, you might have noticed how the game is indeed really sucky before you get to do the job advancement. After that, things become a lot more managable, and more fun.

Goal of becoming a cleric before Gem can make up her mind, but I have doubts that I'll even get to level 25 before I tire of this. Fighting in the dungeon was immensely annoying. I am staying the hell away from there.

Oh and someone needs to give Nexon a kick to the head and tell them that if a player at any time feels that something is the games fault and its not just him being unable to do it better, then there is a problem.

Some of us decided to try our hands at shopkeeping.

edit: added a missing word. And to clarify: Feluka, Jemma, someone else, and me where all in it at once; but this picture only shows me.

I'm sorry if anyone has asked this already, but does anyone know how well this game works on 56k? If it's playable, I might give it a go.

When I asked people in game why it sucked they had the same response. When I asked what job advancement added to the game to make it fun they gave me blank stares. I asked lots of people that question and the most coherent answer was, "SKIILLZ@!!" But the list of skills I saw on the website was pretty lame. Gain health while hanging on ladder! Axe does more damage! Hoorayyyyyyy... no. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You only gain MP on Ladders and Ropes.

There's a warrior skills that allows you to gain HP while on ladders or ropes.

BTW, update: Lvl 16 Bowman, Lvl 14 Warrior (Lancedres and VladTepes respectively)

don't worry, as far as I can tell cold, the level 30 advancement is based on skills, which you can't mess up, you have to fill them...

I'm going to try it, but this is the most annoying thing about these type of games. WTH is the point? To make me angry that I suck horrendously for the first few days I play the game? Just start me at a base class and specialize from there. There's no need for a gimpy boring class to frustrate your players in the beginning.
  • ThansalThansal The New Scum Join Date: 2002-08-22 Member: 1215Members, Constellation
the point of that class is to give you time to get used to the game.

and the first 10 levels go very quickly (well, first 8 for mage)

Despite bringing back painful memories of Ragnarok Online, the game is kind of good, just ultra mega hentai laggy death.

    EDIT: I'm Vanderhuge, in game.

Well, I decided to give this game a try. I have a lvl 10 bowman in mage town, and my name's Greedo386.

The game seems interesting, but I've already hit a plateau where leveling seems to take forever, and it's still the first day. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I can easily see myself getting bored of this within a couple days (which is good. I shouldn't be wasting my time with MMOs)

sweet jesus - i <i>thought</i> that was you.

but yes - the level grind is bonebreakingly brutal. if it weren't for the incentives of the skills-to-come, I'd have ditched the game already.
  • GeminosityGeminosity :3 Join Date: 2003-09-08 Member: 20667Members
    brutal is an understatement XD

To be honest if you can find something to aim for the game's reaally addictive. Along that vein they seriously need more quests but it's actually pretty early beta with this not being started all that long ago so I guess there's lots to come. What's open at the moment doesn't even amount to half the game, barely even quarter =o

first things first, 2d or 3d?

edit: note: 3d takes a heck of a lot more time and you can count me out if you want 3d.

Second: if 2d, targeting system? I was thinking something along the lines of that 2d side rendered game with the guns and articulated figures... can't remember the name, several of you still play it probably (had that mode with the bow and arrow that would kill in one hit)

2D in playing field, 3D in graphics.

EDIT: Aren't 2D graphics much harder to produce, especially good animations?

    EDIT II: Soldat?

2d graphics might be harder for the artist, I'm not the artist.
