For all people having trouble with loud echo (from onos devour or underwater) here's some variables that should help.

room_off "1"
room_type "0"
waterroom_type "0"
room_refl "0"
room_dlylp "2"
room_feedback "0"
room_left "0"
room_lp "0"
room_mod "0"
room_rvblp "1"
room_size "0"

Put the above in your userconfig.cfg and you never hear it again.
