<div class="IPBDescription">Cs mapper needs some help!</div>I map for HL since 3 years so please don't call me narb <img src="http://www.plaudersmilies.de/biglaugh.gif" border="0">!!!
Some days ago I wanted to install the Mapper's Technology Release v2.0. But the setup said the I have not insalled Half-Life 1.08!<img src="http://www.plaudersmilies.de/eek7.gif" border="0"> I have the Counter-strike retail version 1.003 and I can run all mods (for example:DOD2,AHL5,POKE646)!
please help me!! <img src="http://www.plaudersmilies.de/sad/bigeyecry.gif" border="0">

I may be wrong, but in order to detect the HL update, you need to actually HAVE the full-version of HL updated to that version. I realized this before I even got NS, so I guess I never ran across that problem.

Anybody else, is there a way to jury-rig NSTR2 to work with the pseudo-install of HL that comes with CS Retail?

Yes there is. And ######, that is a bug and a half. The problem is that CS does not have an HL.exe, which is what is version checked to ensure the user is not a dummy and installing NSTR2 on a PC without an up-to-date copy of half-life.

What you can do is make a copy of your cs.exe, and name that copy hl.exe. It *should* have a version resource of 1.1.08 or higher. If it doesn't, let me know, and I can post up a dummy hl.exe which can trick the installer.

renaming cs.exe did not help!
