    Sorry, nice try. Look at the FAMAS again. It has lots of quads: 4 vertex faces.

    When I did the polycount, Iconverted it all to editable patch, which converts everything to triangles...
    So I didn't rig the polycount, if that's what you are implying.

    And yes, faces are triangles. Polys are anything above / including 3 sides...
    Not sure what I'll be submitting, methinks the FAMAS. But I've already started meshing it. WHat do you think?

    Meh. I'm in again...nearly finished the bleeding thing...mag now complete with bullets.

    Smoothing still to be done + sights....its at 2200 now. Still without optimization anywhere.

    You cant make what you need to make with squares. It would need to bend around corners and such, and you would need vertexes for the spot where it bends. Your quad is actually 2 triangles.

    I dont see how its possible something like that would be able to curve with no vertex's at curve points.

    what gun is it? i might be able to get you some refs so you can atleast get something done till you get more detailed refs

    and to those of you arguing about the polycounts of models stop right now if its over the limit the entry will be disqualified and the contestent will have 24 hours to resubmit if the seconed submition is over the limit then the contestant will be fully disqualified
