Crabby's pet project, in need of help
Ok, I've been very quiet about this for a long time, well, vocal enough to talk about it under the name of "Derelict Ressurection". She's almost done, but im out of ideas for somthing to help put her over the edge in coolness. So far i got the following done:
-Added heavy duty carrying handles
-Added my signature "Pistol Exit wound Blowhole" vent to the top of the case
-Added a string of LMG holes to the side panel and backit them with green EL wire
-Added control panel for the EL wire to the side of the case, painted to match the case
-Distressed the case, including beating it with a hammer, running it over with a dump truck, lighting it on fire with Gasoline, Alcohol, and paper products, More beating but with a Nine Iron, and then pounding it back into a somewhat reconiuzabnle shape (IE: it fits back on the undamaged chassis)
-added a distressed paintjob (Green "TSA" Topcoat, worn off to see the underlying "Black Primer" basecoat, and that worn off to see bare steel, wich has started to rust a little)
-installed multiple fans, all LED lit blue
-Round IDE cables (Copper Weave design)
-PSU lines wrapped in yellow and black eletrical tape, not in a "warning stripe" pattern though. Molex leads painted black
-painted faceplates on the optical drives
-Split Loom tubing over the internal audio connector
-Matching "Black and white" monitor (yes, it's a color monitor, tis been painted)
-Matching Mouse and "Foldable" keyboard
-Polished vent holes on rear side of the case, reflecting light from the LED Fan
-Shrouded Military switch cutting off power to the reset and power switches (kept shutting off the PC by accidnetally kicking the buttons)
-New reset and power switches (Out of nesessity, the original ones broke)
-New HDD activity and power LEDs
And what i have planned to add so far
-Stenciling to panels, adding a "slightly Distressed" TSA logo and lettering
-
Also, i have some possible additions:
-USB 2.0 bayfiller with temp gauges (the USB leads on the case were incompatable with the motherboard)
- "Build Progress Ring" HDD activity meter
- Mod the front panel with Bondo (Covering up the useless front hatch and fill in the hole left by the switch plate im replacing) (Killed, did body work with fricken galvenized steel)
-Brighter backlighting for the bulletholes/motherboard
-reinstall the removable HD tray for better data backup
-bigger PSU to power everything
Im quite happy with my progress, but im sorta stuck on both Ideas and Suggestions, being alone with the case 24/7 has left me a little unbiased. I'll add some photos soon, once i get the switches installed. Back in a bit, Any and all suggestions are welcome, including saying "Rofl, you suxorz"

"flay humped here"
Or a "comercial flyer sticker" that says "Armory addicted? Call 555-HUMP"
Looking forward to the pictures!

edited for clarity.
and now, for the pics!
#1 Left side: from here you can notice the scratched paint, the Banded powerlines inside, the handles, and my lovely banans and kitchen counter
from here you notice i had to tatally redo the front panel, turns out the switch caused it not to boot for a long time, so i rewired everything. to Power up, you need to hit the toggle switch up, and hit the red button. to reset, hit both black buttons. and yes, it it RIVEITED to the panel, a real PAIN to do on ABS plastic. you also can notice the controls to the EL wire on the right side. and i know, there are two open bays, im closing them off, but im currently out of room
EDIT: the two black buttons line up perfectly in real life, but the panel has a slight waver from the constant hammering (my neighbors still hate me for pounding the steel at 2 am)
the brunt of the work, im still not done though. Scorch marks, scraped paint, the controls for the EL wire, and the sting of LMG bullet holes all suggest i beat the crap out of the case, and they are right.
nothing like modding a case with a gallon of gasoline
The business end! not much mod work done, detailed the rear panels and "reflectififed" the rear fan grill, so now wghen the LEDs are on, it reflects in a pretty pattern.
Originally designed to vent heat, it also helped me relive some tention caused by the store i bought the motherboard from. beating a case senseless is surprisingly fun

Seriously tho, looking great dude. The power switch entitled "F4" mentioned earlier sounds schweet
It refuses to install XP
I'm getting the gasoline and the nine iron, i'll have pictures of the aftermath later
Turns out the whole problem was bad ram, so the BBQ is held off (Mainly due to the fact that it's raining)
I'm getting it fixed and i'll be back soonish
I did the unthinkable, i took it to a repair shop to have some licened professionals gaffaw at my soldering skills. Gonna probably make me have to sell my beloved AEG P90, but the price alone was worth the look on the guy's face. In a sea of beige and HP cases, the SCC, in all her war torn glory, expect updates in a week
