Cl_flushentitypacket

I've recently been trying to connect to my friend's NS server, and i get the error message "Warning: CL_FlushEntityPacket"... i looked it up in a couple different forums, but nothing i did helped. here's what i've tried so far:
-Changed video options to "software" mode, which i later realized NS didn't support
-Changed fps_max to 30
-Changed fps_modem to 30 as well
-Changed rate to 25000
-Changed cl_updaterate to 90
-Changed cl_cmdrate to 101
He's also messed with his server a little bit, but i dont know what he did, but it didnt work either.

type cl_flushentity into the search section of these forums and you end up with a bload of forum topics just like this one:
