Wireless Transmission?

I'm helping out with the interpreters theater at UNI and we're having problems with the walkie talkies were using to cue actors to enter doors being too loud (its a very small theater - people in the audience are hearing them). I was wondering if anyone who tinkers with electronic bits knows how to rig up a light bulb or something to go on when a central "transmitter" hits a signal...
