Why didn't it make it to the final release?
Imho it would add to the cool alien feeling in the game.

btw, I really had some weird dreams about building turretfactories and siegeturrets last night after playing maybe too much...

Because the machine gun sound in the flash intro was taken from (probably) some free sound library, and the machine gun sound in the game was professionaly made by sound engineers.  Or something.
