and is there a PC version planned?
Anyone here grab GTA:SA? And if so, how is it in comparrison w/ Vice City? Please specify your thoughts about previous GTA games in this comparrison as well. (i.e. whether you hated both, hated one but like the other, etc).
And is there a PC version planned at all? If there is it will probably come out in May, and if so then I'll just wait until then. But if it isn't even being planned then I'll grab the PS2 version.
Or maybe just rent it first, I'm still not so confident that the thug gangsta crap won't get really old really quick.
Console flamebats: I will be bugging moderators to nuke your posts and I'll send them cookies to bribe them & get your postcount lowered to a negative number. So stuff it.

It's out now in America. And I bet us Brits can grab it on Thursday.
Though i only played it for about 30mins...it keeps the basics of 3 and vc, but expands upon them 10x more than vc.
IE, The citys are like 5x bigger, your character can swim, better grfx etc. And theres new indoor envirements.
You'd think confuzor would have replied by now.
In other news: Can you drive a car into the water, and get out? How far can you swim? How WILL the Justice force escape the evil Dr. Nefarious? All this and more, answered next week, on THE CHALLENGE OF THE SUPERAQUAINTANCES.
And nooooo, don't give people negative postcounts! :o
Not even heard about an Xbox release at all, most likely it'll appear years later, much like they did with GTA3 / VC.
Hell, i've got a PS2 anyway, i'm gonna get it for that.
I'm sold.
And the angels cheered when they heard your character can no longer drown in waist deep water. Seriously though, a guy who can jump off a 20 story building and get up and run off, but can't swim? And at last, it's fixed! Woo!
O:
EDIT: For clarity.
gta3 pc version release date: 05/20/2002
gta:vc ps2 version release date: 10/27/2002
gta:vc pc version release date: 05/12/2003
gta:sa ps2 version release date: 10/26/2004
gta:sa pc version release date: 5/?/2005 ?
just to emphasize may release prediction
These console "exclusives" only last as long as the creator (Sony) is willing to pay to keep the exclusive going.
And seeing how well the GTA+VC pack sold on xbox, I highly doubt there will be much of a wait
Also, the area which is unlocked at the very beginning of the game is larger than Vice City, maybe around the same size as GTA3 was. That's just somewhere between a quarter and a third of the game world... it's huge. The strategy guide is immense. I very highly recommend getting this game, even if you didn't like Vice City.
Nope, just for explosion purposes. Pretty much just a decal on the side of the car that you can tell is the gas tank, and if hit it triggers the car explosion. Nothing fancy, but it's still fun.
Sorry, what game were you playing? Since when was the reticle in the top right?
Yeah, I don't know what game you were playing but my copy of Vice City has crosshairs in the center. Edit: Just checked and yeah, the crosshair is a tad off-center. The bullets still go where the crosshair points, though, so I don't see what the problem is.
Good news is that yes, San Andreas crosshairs expand as you fire. God I love this game.

max payne 2 had the crosshair aimed towards upper right
Imagine every single thing in Vice City updated by 5 times and you'll have SA.
Some awesome highlights :
- Constant updating
I was just running around and my stamina went up and fat went down. You can go to gyms to work out to boost your stamina and muscles. Once you get enough you can train to get new moves you can use.
- Awesome missions
I've only done 5 or 6 early missions but they're already amazingly complex. They all have great dialogue.
- The city
It's huge. I mean really huge. There's so many amazing things to do and see. It's alive too, with people talking to each other, being attacked or just going on about their business.
- Cool new items
You can get a camera (at your house, yes a house) and you can take pictures, and store it in a gallery. You also get a can of spraypaint that you can spray in peoples eyes or use to spray over other gang signs. This partially replaces the packages.
- Arcade games! Pool! Oh God!
That's right, arcade games. So far I've played 3 of them. Each are full screen, with high scores and downright arcade feelings.
- CJ himself
Oh god. You can fully customise your clothes (buy new ones, and then select what you want in your warderobe. You can get haircuts. You can get tatoos. And you can climb. That's right, climb. I was a black spiderman with no shirt on for a while, just running and jumping (you jump really high now). When you're near a ledge you climb up.
It's so amazingly awesome and I've only seen maybe 3% of the game. Oh god oh god oh god.
You can have first person with cars (no dashboard though) and with some guns (ak, m4), but other than that no.
Damn you all.
