Your own weapons?

I just happened to be checking out the game here and realized that one of your weapons wasn't made by you or your development team.

I thought this was your own creation for a MOD but it seems that you have taken from another MOD.  Sad really.

The weapon I am speaking of is the welder.  Looks awfully similar to Gearbox's Displacer canon from Opposing Force.

    LOL, um, wtf are you saying.
    If you're speaking on the concept of a welder, that's been around since the welder was invented, I see no reason to bash NS because they have one in their game.
    If you're talking about them having copied the model/art of the welder used in game from another mod, that's a different story. I'd very much like to see some proof of that if you can offer it.

    Have you even played Natural Selection? The displacer model was only used in the mapping tech release. If you play the actually release, you notice that its a completely new and different model.

    Is it just me, or are people really stupid?

    The welder model in Natural Selection is a 100% original cration of the devolpment team.  The Op4 displacer model was placeholder in the mapping tech release that was shipped out in February, before most of the NS guns had even been modeled.

    Plus, well, not to mention the fact that (If I'm not mistaken) you have VALVe's explicit permission to use items from Half Life and any of its offshoots in your mod.

    Not that we would have, but it does lessen the "offense" when you're actually allowed to do it.

    So, we've demonstrated that you didn't actually, you know, <b>play</b> the game, nor are you familiar with VALVe's terms of use, though you certainly felt entitled to make a pretty serious accusation based on the two items. To quote you, "Sad really." Actually, it's a wee bit closer to pitiful, but you get my point.
