<div class="IPBDescription">OMG! A wormhole virus!</div> I have alot of computer illiterate friends. These illiterates seem to use Yahoo for their IM purposes. They believe everything it seems. I recieved the following IM via Yahoo last night (the names are removed so that they don't get IMs saying how gullable they are)

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->VIRUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!YAHOO NOW HAS A VIRUS IN MESSAGE SYSTEM AND IT IS NOW ACTIVE ON THE SERVERS BY DEFAULT IF U DON'T SEND THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR LIST AS SOON AS U DELETE THIS MESSAGE A WORM HOLE VIRUS WILL ENTER YOUR HARD DRIVE AND WILL SLOWLY EAT AT YOUR FILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!jUST RIGHT CLICK YOUR BUDDY LIST AND SEND THIS MESSAGE TO YOUR GROUP......sorry guys this is real srry i had 2 i dont want a virus</FADE<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Now, first off...don't you think it would be in the news?
Secondly...OMG! A wormhole virus! It has to be real! Wait a minute...WTH is a wormhole virus? It sounds like some mad scientist's mistake when he was f'ing around on his computer, checking out porn or whatever. Now, maybe a worm, maybe a virus, but they arn't the same last I checked.

Sorry, I just had to say something...I get these all the time. I needed a self-esteem boost and whatnot.

Mmmm....common sense....

Yea...thats right, I forgot about the your file thing...(had to turn in some homework and skip class for a bit...lost train of thought....choo choo!)

Yea...thank goodness the wormhole virus only affects your file, not the entire hard drive. I can sleep easier knowing that, since I keep backups of all my files. But since its only my file, and only one, I can spend less time replacing my file rather than my hard drive. My file usually is small, because I was told size don't matter...however, the chic that told me that was a small petite chic that....welll...we wont go into that....but at least the wormhole virus doesnt affect the avi we recorded of ourselfs! Nope, only affects my file!

I must say, I was almost concerned about my file, but then I realized I am at work and my file is actually at home. :-)

Side note, mspaint CAN turn .bmps into .jpgs, IF you have that option installed. I believe it installs itself by default when you first startup your computer with XP/ME/2K etc however, 98 and 95 it is not intially selected, correct me if I'm wrong. I could be. teehee.

It's not by definition, let's just disprove this OK?...

Say you have a group of eleven people, one has a wage of 20,000€/month and the rest have a sane wage, say around 2000€/month each.

The regular arithmetic average that everyone means when they say average is 4000€, but 10 out of those eleven people earn less then that!

Now, the average you MIGHT(and then certainly should have said) have meant is the median, which by definition has as many samples on either side.

If the distribution is symmetric(and it often is(often gaussian)) then you will have as many people on either side of the average even if you mean the arithmetic one.

Thank you for taking that person's statement literally, it works so <i>very</i> well in context of what this thread is.
