Ever Had A Lifelong Dream?
<div class="IPBDescription">Ever had one come true?</div> For as long as I remember, I was the kid who'd look up at the sky when I heard a jet flyover, and follow it in the sky untill it left my sight. This often led to laughter as I would trip over steps, inanimate obstacles, small children, etc. I didn't care. I thought planes we're cool.
This is my senior year in High School, and we are require to do something called a "Senior Exit Project" - Which consists of a 15 minute presentation, an 8 page essay, the presentation of a "product", and much annoyance. We also require a "Mentor" who is supposed to "guide" us through our project.
Off I went on my quest to find this "Mentor" - Down to the local county airport. Hurah! I met a buncha neat folks. Ian, Kim, Josh, Brent, and the owner of the airport, Mike. (Hey! I'm Mike too, score!) Well, Ian is the local instructor, and decided to be my "Mentor", but as I was exploring the hangars of planes with Brent, Josh was preparing for a quick flight over the local river in one of the Cessna 172 trainers and asked if I wanted to tag along. Hell yes. Skip ahead 20 minutes, 4,000 feet, and 80 miles an hour and I'm holding the controls of this aircraft. *Feint*
My dream has always been to fly. I may have had the controls only a short three minutes, but those three minutes made my day. Hell, it made my YEAR.
What really drove this all home was the fact that they HIRED me to work the ramp! I get paid to be around planes, and even get taken up in one every now and then!
Just had to share this with everyone. I believe everyone should have their dreams come true, and who knows? Yours just might. Mine did.

Personally, no, none of my dreams have come true. I've got much time, work and planning to do before my life dreams or goals come anywhere near to reality. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Shut up.
I want to be an actor, make a movie [maybe], and write a book. Someday. <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->
[Cool story]
The one thing that drove me at your age was to design and detail something (anything really) that I could see produced and eventually hold in my hands. I spent years in high school and then into college doing nothing but lettering (so much so that I can barely remember any cursive letters that aren't in my name) and drawing lines.
About 7 years ago I landed a job as an engineering tech for a medical device manufacturer doing preventative maintenance and general assembly line support. A few months in, the engineering department switched to a 3D modelling software (which I already knew) and I got handed the job of designing some new fixtures for a process they were getting ready to start. I can't tell you how cool it is to start with a thought in your head and within weeks or months be standing over someone's shoulder as they use your physically realized thought to pump out product.
Many an adult beverage was enjoyed around that time--nuff said <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
My Dream right now is not failing Spanish(I hate it) and Art. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Does that count?

Beyond belief, yes it counts.
Another dream of mine is to have a pool and hot tub in a private backyard that I can watch TV and use a laptop from. Oh joyous imagination!

Cool.
If anyone needs me, I'll be outside watching Finding Nemo on DVD naked.

That's a <i>kid's</i> movie, man. Sicko.
Well that would be my second option =)
My fascination fades away quickly.
What if they are lesbians and kill men for fun?

Mine back when was to be able to model and do stuff with games ever since I first started playing when i was 2 or 3. Now I do it regularly, but I never thought it would take the magic out of the games the way it does <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
my lifelong dream has been to become a United States Marine.. i'm already enlisted, at this point, but i have a long, long ways to go before i actually earn that title.

Death by snoo snoo (futurama ref)! No better way to die. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Die
...
See? Posting like that really does nothing but damage..
In any case, I've had a lot of dreams in my lifetime. But right now I really need to focus on the short term. I'm too much of a thinker so I get lost in possibilities before I even deal with the here and now. Kinda like that Aesop's Fable about the astronomer who fell down the well.
