I just started a map, but im not sure what things have to be in it.  Like do the marines have to have access to the hive.  Or any kind of structore that is required.  All i know is that aliens cant have access to the marine start. and i need a ready room. anything else

    Also, make sure to read the other various mapping guide located in the mapping forum FAQ (the topmost note in this forum's message list).  Some of those explanations should help you understand the bare essentials you'll need for an NS map.
