The Whitlam Dismissal
Given these sequence of events Here, comment on how Australia would be as a nation provided that most events in the rest of the world progressed more or less naturally from 1975 onwards.

For those not familiar with the Whitlam dismissal, Here is a wealth of information.

You are free to speculate on how Australia would have been in regards to culture, alliances, treaties, world events etc etc and the knock on effects and so forth. If you wish to discuss the Whitlam dismissal, I would like to suggest another thread so as not to throw this one off.

Personally I think Australia would have been much more assertive then it is today. Seeing as how people died to essentially create the Federal Republic of Australia being so recent in memory. East Timor may have been dealt with much earlier, possibly with a larger scale conflict taking place as a result.

The Culture in general might also have been different, though I cant really think of any specifics due to the family of headaches that has just now taken up residence within my skull.

I'm afraid I'll have to pass this on to others until I can evict them.
