Here is the brief:
ns_solace needs a dropship. Actually it doesn't need a drop-ship per se, as I killed it off in the backstory, but I have a huge, empty hanger in my map just waiting for something supersexeh to fill it (don't read too much into that last line).
NOTE: The hangar isn't player accessible it's simply eye-candy, but what eye-candy it would be to have that hot momma struttin her stuff in it <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I've updated the content in both of those links, so hopefully you'll see that I'm pretty serious about this project, and would be looking for someone equally serious.
If anyone does wanna help me out there would be almost no doubt this would be included, provided the polycount wasn't insane and that it was completed to the same high quality I have come to expect from these forums. Obviously since the map is currently on hold there is no deadline/rush for completion, if you have some spare time I'd love to see what it might look like modelled...
Basically if you model it to the concept, assuming that two seated Marines would occupy the cockpit, I hope that it shouldn't be too big for the bay. The mapping guidelines suggest that peak <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/Mapping_Guidelines.html#Appendix_A__Baseline_E-Polys' target='_blank'>baseline epolys</a> should be under 2100 for all players. Since this area will be unbuildable hopefully we can go right up to 1900-2000 I may be forced to restrict this depending on buildable areas within view. At the moment my thoughts are that you would look out through a panel down onto the Cargo Bay. I do not intend it to be a valuable part of the map in terms of relocation or either team wanting to reinforce the area. If worse comes to worse I'll just make it viewable from the Ready Room, but I'd prefer to keep it in game.

There's absolutely nothing stopping NS maps incorporating models into the mix, you just have to use your entities very wisely.
[EDIT] But there's no doubt your map has impressed all who have seen it, although I still haven't seen any screenshots of the area with the completed mining vehicle model yet.
if I would have more time I would try and create some kind of preview model of this conceptart. but do I look if I have got some time left <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
but I like this concept very much, nice coloring. this are pictures you can work with.
- I'd still like this in the map
- I think Drake left the forums, leaving behind a trail of 404s! Is anyone still in contact with him?
