i heard about it ages before it was released. i thought it would never be released. when it was finally released i got it so early i had to wait a day before enough other people got it so i could play against someone coz the first time i tried it it was a 1vs1 game which i played until i killed 1 alien and then decided to stop until i could get into a proper match. i have played every version. i usually played it every day. i did not try to be aliens until i had got to know all the maps thoroughly as a marine. when i tried alien it was like ages before i went back to being marine again coz i liked not having to go "WELD ME! WELD ME!!!ELEKD ME WELD ME WLDKS ME!! !!WELD ME WELEKD MEEEE!!!!" constantly. fade was my favourite and i would use carapace and never stray far from a pile of defence chambers. i would use acid rocket and never swipe and i'd totally massacre the marines. i was unstoppable. now i hardly ever use acid rocket and rarely go fade.
i got my friend into NS. the first time that he decided to be commander he won before the aliens could get a second hive but he had the benefit of me yelling over his shoulder about what to do.
my favourite thing about NS is that it has an aim system that doesn't try to prevent you from trying to pull off amazing feats of marksmanship like CS and DOD do.
Friend of mine told me to download this great mod, around 1.04. Took some getting used to now its a way of life.
