Anyone that's wanting it now, when it means nothing (and will be gone shortly anyways) merely want to show off a vet icon. If it still meant something I could understand wanting one, but it doesn't.
As for putting icons in the sig, user groups change and we're required to have a tag in our sig saying what group we're in (NAPT, EUPT, Pacific PT). I think it would be neat if new icon(s) were implemented to be given to the Omega / Delta champions by season. Meaning, if team X won Delta Champions for season 1 and team Y we're the omega champions, the members of clan x & y would be awarded to wear this icon until a new champion comes along. Correct me if I'am wrong, but that's what the vet icon we're used for awhile back...Personally, I think vet's should only be worn by players who have contributed and all that jazz since way back, which was said is some previous posts. Having a vet icons should be special...It should either be removed completely or, only left for those certain players who have actually done something to deserve them.

The icons are important in my opinion, it shows who has really put work and effort into help shaping the game the way it is now. Perhaps you could have a new system.. vet testing. What would happen is playtesters would test it yadayadayada, then about 3-5 days before the patch's actual release, it would be realeased to veterans, who would then playtest it to find flaws/serious exploit problems and such... and then after those last things had been fixed, it would go public. Only problem is, since beta 6 is probably one of the last releases of NS, there is no real point in doing this anymore. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Guides icons are a good idea but by the time players know what they are they pretty much know the basics and dont bother asking questions. This is because the only thing left for those players to learn is the upper level skills which cant be told to someone. That and there isnt enough of them! I see one maybe once every two weeks.
Playtesters are nice, I like to thank those players who took the time to do all the testing of the pre-public betas. It is a nice way of knowing who to thank.

I think that vets should do what they were supposed to do, scrim each other in beta versions to see how the game played in a match setting. Let the PTs find the bugs... which by the by is not as glamorous as some people believe. And let the vets test the match play balance. I think that a vet should be someone who can play the game well, and uses cunning and skill to defeat the foe, many of the ATI vets didin't fit that bill.
However I think that teams that are willing to scrim in beta builds[almost all the CAL delta clans] should be given the option, and I do think that there should be a limited number of teams. I don't think that it should ABSOLUTLY be based on skill, but rather willingness to participate, and the ability to give useful positive feedback. But being a 213373|2 of 1337 sauce, or being on the cover of the 1337135 box doesn't hurt.
I am all about the vets... so long as they are more than just really skilled [DONKEY]holes who don't do anything for the game... not that I am bitter that my clan wasn't amongst the first vets mind you...

We had them on our server a long time ago but the detail needed to see what it actually was could not be attained.
Vets mean nothing to me ever since the ati thing happend.
Or rather, didn't happen har har.
IE. Gold for the winning delta team that session. Silver for the runner up. Bronce for the simifinalist. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
yeah i like that idea!
Thats it,
