    While i somehow doubt any WW1/WW2 vets would be reading this, i second it wholeheartedly. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    My dad was so happy this morning because this is his first veteran's day being a veteran. (just retired from the navy)

    He was all excited for the free breakfeast, and steak dinner at the American Legion here <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Yes, thank you vets!

    I have a question....why would you post that here where the majority of us are in our teens or 20's? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    its just respectful...

    what isnt respectful is that I just moved to the midwest from Florida, and they dont really celebrate vet's day here. Where In florida, I got out of school, here they dont care <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I'm a bit late, but happy Veteran's Day! My grandfather is a WWII vet. He was in the Canadian navy and served on the HMCS Arvida. If anyone can find a crew list or crew pictures or anything, I'm sure that he would appreciate it very much. I couldn't find anything after searching.

    To the guy in the other thread from Quebec who couldn't find any poppies: There's usually a veteran in St. Mary's hospital selling poppies around the beginning of November and you can also usually find someone selling poppies in most of the metro stations. Also, some convienience stores have them. The one near here did. (Broadway, in Lasalle, I believe. At the corner of Broadway and 6th Avenue. Deppaneur Vincent.)

    [EDIT:] You can also look for a Canadian Legion building and ask for a poppy there.
