The Spread Of Ns
<div class="IPBDescription">a funny thing happened today</div> So yea I thought I'd share this b/c it gave me a real good laugh.
Earlier today I went to one of my friends place to pick him up. He came out and told me he had to quickly return a phone call before we left and that he would only be a few min. He then ran back into the house and I sat in the car waiting for him.
Across the street is a playground with one of those really big play climbing things with slides and tunnels and things like that and there were several kids running around. I'd say they were about 8 to 11 years old. There was also an older kid maybe in his teens watching them (Older brother maybe?) and couple women. Most likely their mothers.
After school play group.
A few of the kids had some toy guns, (empty water guns, cap guns etc) and they were running around shooting each other. The other half of the group didnt have any toy guns and they were getting chased around by those that did.
I assumed they were playing "war" like anyone else did when they were little.
This is where it gets good. As I sat their watching.
One of the little kids screams "Get back to the base!!!"
All of the kids with guns run screaming back to the big playground thingy and scramble up on top. One of the kids (with one of those big extra large supersoaker water guns doesnt make it and gets tackled by one of the kids without a toy gun. He falls to the ground laughing and screaming. blablabla
The kid who made the tackle makes some "rawr" type scream and runs away.
One kid in the "base" suddenly yells "Somone go grab his HNG!! (yea he said h-N-g)
This plainly got my attention.
Following this a bunch of kids run at the playground "base" and start throwing tennis balls at the people in the base.
A kid yells "Acid Rockets!"
By now I was like "OMG they are playing NS!!" (I must have had a huge smile on my face)
At this time my friend comes back to the car. hes like "Wth is so funny" i said nothing and we drove off.
When we drove past I yelled "ONOS" out the window which made the mothers look at me funny but who cares. It was a pretty awsome moment. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Oh man, so totally agreed.
MAN why doesn't stuff like that ever happen around here. That is so freaking cool to see someone in RL, especially little kids like that, knowing about this stuff.

heehee I got one of my roomates hooked onto NS, this in turn got more of my roomates hooked. These people didnt even know what HL was. So they essentualy bought copies of HL just to play NS.
Then my friends by some miracle got their girlfriends to play and their other friends. It was like an infection lol it kept speading.
Now as many nights a week as we have time for we all get together online and play together.

Thats frigging amazing. We allways had to play stupid wars with PVC blowpipes and stuff... and I allways ended up getting captured by the enemy team.
