Need suggestions
Does anyone know of any half decent alternatives to the command prompt program that comes with Windows? I'm still after a command-line interface. Basically, I really like the one that's included with Knoppix ("Konsole", I think it's called), 'cept I don't think that's been ported to a non X-windows environment.

But I don't, so I can't.
(No I don't have a link, Google it ftw.)
Probably not much use to you (nor anyone else to be honest), but I thought you might find it interesting.

Most extravagant, useless, yet incredibly cool idea ever.
Whenever I need to enter in a command I just type it there and hit enter.

First time to use this term but it is appropriate.
FTW.
*sigh*. 217mb for a whole pile of stuff that I'm not after - shells, networking stuff, file browsers. Oh well.
Pity they didn't call it Services That're For Unix

This is the kind of thing open source developers do when they're bored.

Short version: Process management... with guns
Ok, so do you just want to have a pretty, configurable command window? Or do you actually want to replace the cmd.exe shell?
If the latter, then you can get bash (a common UNIX shell, very good for scripting) and some basic unix utilities (ls, cp, mv, ect). Give me a minute to find them.
Edit: here some info: http://home.wanadoo.nl/fvu/Projects/Bash/Web/bash.htm

I'm just after a pretty, configurable command window. I've already got ports of many Unix utilities, bash, make and gcc.

How do you get it to accept commands like that? I would find that very useful.
