    the only way you can get the sdk is if you buy HL2, at least as far as i know. i don't see why you'd want to get it otherwise. i mean... yes you can sorta get cracking.. but.. trust me. 4 more days. ...... i have seen the box. i have held it in my hands. i have nearly wet my pants. Course i can't buy it for 4 more days, but i can wait. Four more days out of 6 years... i can wait.

    For the time being, a HL2 purchase is required as it is kind of integrated somewhat into steam and HL2/CS:S components. From what I understand, in the future they may make it more independent.
