The comment about his postcount related to data gave me a most wonderful idea. All postcounts on every forum everywhere should be replaced with the total amount of data a user's posts take up, going by 1 character = 1 byte. (pictarz would count for like 1 or maybe 10 bytes, regardless of size >_>)

Thus all those short spammy pointless one word posts are not worth as much as a long thought out post <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Granted, people could make a really long spam posts (*coughesunacough* <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) but those are easily taken care of as they are more obvious.

    I suppose the main problem with your idea is that it would encourage people to use very wordy responses. Not necessarily in the spam sense, but rather in the sense that i it would encourage people would extranaeous, redundant and overly useless words, and would discourage them from reading over their posts to make sure they haven't said the same thing over and over and over again. Some people (not like me of course <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) would even repeat themselves on purpose just to make sure that everyone is completely sure of their point.

    We could set up a post voting system like Bash. Every post has a + or a - option on it. Every time you click it [you only get to click once per post] the user's rating/honour/respect whatever goes either up or down. That way crappy posts get rejected, good posters get 'rewarded', and I get -2000!

    Edit: And the problem with the first post is that pictures can say a 1000 words, and text itself doesn't take up much space. Make a text file, and write 1000 words, and see how much it actually takes up.

    eediot there's a huge glaring flaw in your idea, good/informative/usefull posts aren't nessecarilly popular.(particullarilly this would fail misserably in the discussion forum)

    For posts like .......................................... we could incorporate a dictionary script which would check 'words' of text for spelling. The script could be a cool spellcheck on the users end and a wordcount on the servers end. Oh and why not just make it word count?
