<div class="IPBDescription">NS wont work... for me either</div> Yes, as you may have guessed, NS won't work for me. It flat out refuses.

At any rate, I've searched this forum top and bottom, spent an entire day just going through posts, faqs, guides, downloads, deletes, re-downloads, installing, uninstalling and re-installing, ect... Now.

I've installed the most recent version of NS on the site, and I've also gotten steam. Steam works fine with HL, CS, TFC, all that cool stuff. But when I install ns, no matter where I put it, it doesn't show up on the refresh list, or in the 'play games' menu. I finally decided to ask for help, so... help?

Can you see
C:\...Steam\SteamApps\email\half-life\ns\ns?
It's a common mistake when installing the beta, and pointing it to the wrong place. (Point it to HALF-LIFE, NOT Half-life\ns.)

Beta5 is all inclusive, so you do not need to download any others. Use any one from here:

as you are the 3rd person asking how to fix it check these FIRST

in regards to EXACTLY what you need

Do you have steam?

Do you have copy of HL [or hl product opposing force etc] registered on the steam poweres account?

Have you intalled HL?

Have you tested HL to make sure it works and is all there?

have you installed the NS game into your either
X:/ is to be consistant to were you have steam installed

<X:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your steam account\half-life\ns>
OR
<X:\program files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\bixcarracerx2@hotmail.com\half-life\ns>

Does the ns folder have a "liblist.gam" files located in it.

IF all of those are completed THEN NS MUST appear in your 3rd party mods under your steam "my games"

I know I'm not the first person to have this problem. But if I'd found anything useful in the other posts about it, like I said before, I'd not have posted here.

And yes, every answer for that list is yes, but it still doesn't show up in steam.

okay I need to know what what key you registered with steam. that may help. also any other perdent info feel free to add.

HLs been on my computer forever, I'm not sure what the key was. I lost it, and am not sure how to find it on the computer. But I did find multiple steam files. Like I had two different steam files in my program files. So I tried installing ns into both of them. Then I deleted one and tried it that way. It still didn't work. Also, I just found out thismorning, that the ns install file I downloaded from bittorrent may have been corrupt when I finished getting it. So I'll try a different mirror and see if that doesn't work.

I downloaded it from a different mirror, same result. It still isn't working. Should there be a .exe file in there somewhere?
