Yeah. Near the beginning of the airbot ride(I think it was near the beginning.), you see him up on a ledge on a house. At the end of the ride, after pwning the chopper and getting up and behind the building that is immediately visible behind those closed doors, you can see him further along the 'road' to the dam.
In one of the combine controlled houses ( in the buggy ride ) there's a telescope showing the GMan talking to one of the persons in the palce you're heading to.. Which seems strange.. This seem like they haven't talked to him.. Bla.

Lamar is on Gordon's head, as the bit at the end of the credits shows
the combine are a slaver race, but not exactly. They're like the covenant in Halo, they find species and the incorporate them into the whole, using whatever skills they might have, or just turning them into cannon fodder. It's a combination of species. Also, it would seem that whenever a species puts up too much resistance, instead of trying really hard to conform them, they just wipe them out.
The soldiers are CPU civil protection units, and from the way Breen talks to them, they are human. They are "the best the species has to offer."
those thumpers drive the ant lions back because it overdrives their senses. From what I can figure, they run off of smell and vibration sensation. BTW that combine alien that you see towards the end... it's head looked very similar to those gunships..

I wouldn't be surprised if Valve put out at least one HL2 expansion. They did it with HL(though I hope they can do better this time). Knowing Newell, he won't be satisfied calling something HL3 until he can make a huge technology leap again, and I just hope the plot won't be in stasis until then.
I thought everything with the new Grav Gun was an absolute blast, but the final "boss" was very disappointing. It basically amounted to a handful of regular enemies and a jumping puzzle. Bleh.

Just completed it. It seems the Gman is offering your services to people for profit. You're basically a "Rent-a-Hero". He wakes you up, you save the day, and then he puts you back in your box, until next time.

Nope. Time obviously kept going in the real world, but Gordon Freeman wasn't there anymore. It's obvious the G-Man is able to transfer through dimensions, probably by using his briefcase.
He's quite a sales guy though.
"Hello Mr. Freeman, commission's running low, so I need you to save the earth again by killing a bunch of crap so then I can make you unconscious for a few years. "
OSHA > G-Man.
So, after completing the game around an hour ago, I'm still loving it. The best part of the game is obviously where you are locked in the prison area. I got such a rush that whole time. Also, nothing is more fun than running around holding a turret.
The physics really took the idea of Half Life and made it into Half Life 2. Amazing immersion, good AI, blow your load graphics, and well done characters all sum up the best game I've ever played.
Oh yeah, the way the story was told was still top notch. I love the Half Life plot style, because it's more realistic and indirect. Really adds to the immersion factor.

The likely choices would be Alyx or Barney, the thing is, both of them are working toward the same goal as Gordon so it would be the same thing. It wouldn't be Father Grigori, it definately wouldn't be one of the Combine (How fun would standing guard somewhere be?) it wouldn't be Breen or GMan, and, well, that's about it.
Except that playing as Gordon, you're pretty much the leader of the resistance, you spark off the revolution, are on the combine's most wanted list, and lead to the downfall of the citadel, so why would playing some resistance lacky be any different or better? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I meant an actual storyline sequel. I doubt they'll do the same thing they did with Black Mesa, though I suppose they could do something with another character in the aftermath of HL2. I think it would be appropriate to release an expansion or two featuring Gordon's G-Man errands, and if HL3 ever comes out it would bring finality to the G-Man and whoever it is that he works for(if anyone).
Anyone catch a glimpse of those four legged aliens near the end? They were walking across the platform as you flew over in your little portable-train.

you mean these guys?
