I've played for a beautiful... 0 hours. Stupid radioshack. I spend maybe two hours walking there. So I come in, ask, "do you have Half Life 2?" The guy's like "What's that? Let me check my computer. Oh, yada-yada, it's new, we don't have it. Try some other stores around the area." Next store I found was zellers. Their Silver editition of HL2 (which was the only one I found) costs nearly as much as the Gold on steam. $90 with tax and everything?! Rip-off. I didn't bring that much money. So now, I'm waiting until I can find a decent store to purchase HL2 from. And I'm mad as hell.
Yea, Ravenholm was awesome. The whole game was friggin' awesome. Unfortunately, a bit on the short side, a common problem in the newest FPS games (except Far Cry - that thing was like the Energizer Bunny!)...
Great game, the ending **** me off in a good way, not like the Halo 2 ending, which **** me off in a very, very bad way.
Its the dune buggy level, ill put it in a spoiler form.

I shall leave this here so people can marvel at my newbishness.
Up to the end of Chapter 4, wherein the game gives me memory errors and a wonderful hot n sexy crash! Woowoo! This best get resolved by tomorrow...I have it off and I'm planning on beating this by tomorrow night!
I still haven't gotten to the labs yet. I do know something however. I want to marry this woman:

Theres a lot of pics in the folder (well over 200) but be warned it has major spoilers
Well, it can certainly be finished in under 24 hours, maybe even under 16, unless of course you crap your pants every half-hour due to the jaw-droppingly good work Valve did with this game...
Got it at 12:10 AM Tuesday, Nov 16, played to 7:00 AM (at which point i had to rush to bed and close my eyes, as someone's alarm clock went off and didn't want to get chewed out. ) I then woke up at about 12:10 PM, hopped on the comp and started playing again until about... 7-8 PM. So, i've played 14 hours worth, and i just finished it a hour ago so that's probably a good half-day of play... because i spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out multiple areas as well as multiple lives. Damn doorways, being near their corners and such... I thought there was a dead end, but the doorway was in the shadows to the left, and because im not a gamma haxxor i didn't see it the first...
Played for about 8.5 hours yestarday then had to stop before my eyes started bleeding.
There were only 4 people in my Uni Lecture yestarday(out of 60) and the lecturer was going mental Well I am doing a computing degree.

Jesus am I the only one who thinks the entire area of ravensholm is a b**ch? Those bastages are tearing me apart at every turn, and ammo/things to shoot with the grav gun are all to scarce. >.<

Ravensholm was better than any resident evil game. (As far as scare factor, atmosphere and ammo scarceness go, anyway..I freaked when I first saw those speedy zombos)
Im a couple of maps into chapter 10 now. I still dont know what te combine are, or what exactly has happened to the earth since HL1. Did i miss something or is this gonna be explained later?

I can give you a few more spoilers:

QUOTE (spoiler)

The combine are from Xen. My thery is that most of the BM incedent was actualy an accident. The reason why you team up with the GMan at the end is that he honestly was a good guy, and so are the vorligons. However, vorligons are not the only things that could come from xen, headcrabs, antlions, and ofcourse the combine. So probably the resistance on both worlds (humans and vorligons) are now fighting the combine.
there yah go, my speculations.

MAJOR SPOILER. Do not read unless you have beaten the game or you really want to.

All this is very fuzzy because the only revelations you get are from Breen's communication with the Combine leader, which ends with "He's right behind me, ****!" Apparently he was going to have to become a "host body" for the fungi, but he accepts because Gordon is right behind him with a souped-up gravity gun. So, the Combine soldiers are actually mind controlled folks. I've got to the part with the steam login. The password's proving a hard boss, especially since in order to kill it I had to submit a request on the steam support system which hasn't got a reply for 48 hours now. I thought I'd use the secret answer weapon but I can't find any ammo for it...
On the bright side I'm impressed with the graphics... it's so convincing! It looks just like my desktop with a steam account login taunting me ontop =o
