Weapon Range Cvar/metamod?

Does anyone know of a weapon range cvar or metamod plugin or similar that could be used to say give bitegun or knifegun a longer range?

In all of my time here I have never seen that asked, so don't worry about that. I don't know the answer though.

I beleive it's hard-coded into the game, but some creative fiddling with memory (and lots of crashes later...) could potentially change it via plugin. It still can't be used to cheat, mind you, since either the server is running the plugin or it will tell you that you missed.
