<div class="IPBDescription">Which one to buy?</div> Hi, at the moment I have a GF4Ti4200 with 64 mb RAM.
My motherboard only supports AGP4X.
My budget is about €150.

What videocard should I take?

GF FX 5700? I heard those are pretty crappy @ directx 9.0
Radeon 9600 (SE? Pro?) Are the cataclyst drivers stable?
A faster GF4 Ti4600 with 128 mb? :o)

hmm I found <a href='http://faq.tweakers.net/vb/videotabel.html' target='_blank'>this</a>

I can't make up my mind O.o

If the max your motherboard can do is AGP4x I'd stick with a GeForce 4 of some description. I have a Ti4600 128Mb and it can outperform several of the FX cards.

I wouldn't waste money on such a small upgrade however. If I was you I'd save some more and get a new motherboard in the process.

    The FX 9700 can't do DX9

If you must go Nvidea, which is really quite stupid unless you plan to get a 6XXX issue card, then your only option close to that price range is the 6600.

Honestly, your best bet in that pricerange is definately a radeon 9600.

Catalyst drivers have been compleatly stable for the last two years at least, you don't need to worry about them in the slightest.

I'd recommend the 9600Pro or even the 9600XT if you can afford it. I have the Pro and like it. Don't get the 9600 non-pro or SE, they are *cough*junk*cough*. If you decide with nVidia, get the 6600 card. I've been seeing good reviews on it as a middle range card.

Agp 4x or 8x doesn't make much of a difference and shouldn't hold you back in deciding what to get.

All DX9 cards support AGP 4x, but don't try to go lower then that.

Hey, I'll trade you my graphics card. Though, I don't think that I want to tell you what mine is, or you might not want to trade with me. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well, of course they don't ... There is a reason for the "AGP" in the "AGP 4x" <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Wait a month and save up about 20-30 more Euros. By Christmas you should get a 9800 pro with 180ish euros
