I got my hammock, which is now sitting in front of my TV during the winter.
Team Canada Jersey
Lots of money towards my road trip this summer to California, already in American dollars!
Really nice knife for when I go camping, which is alot
usual assortment of needed shirts/pants
Good coffee/other candy to keep me awake during the late nights
Assortment of gift certificates
And enough blank DVD's to keep me burning till school starts

So, who had the rich parents who got them 18 new components for their PC and we all will hate them?

Compy, you're the first Canadian I've heard of who wants to make a road trip in America as far as California. It is a pretty good choice in terms of variety...surfing and snowboarding and national parks to camp in, all within driving distance of each other. Err, long distance driving, anyway, but if you drive all the way there to begin with, the mini-trips will seem short

I didn't ask for much, so I'm content with what I got: a winter break off, clothing I forgot I needed, and enough cash or returnable useless gifts to put a dent in the expense for the Gold pack on Steam.

Pity is, now that I've beaten both Half-life: Source and HL2 on hard difficulty, I've gotten a new present. I now have both Half-Life games, both Fallouts plus Tactics, Planescape: Torment, and KOTOR 1 under my belt. And I have no consoles, only a PC.
So every other game I try to start playing (have tried Sid Meyers Pirates and Baldur's Gate II, among others) just seems....boring.

New Bible, keyboard for my Palm pilot, and a book with all sorts of crazed electronic gadgets in it for the building...

EMP cannon, something that hovers without flapping, lasers that are visible 20 miles away.

If I wasn't planning on going to India this summer I'd probably have a good deal of the parts ordered for it already.

OK, I think Lazer has just volunteered to be subject of everyone else's searing hate...

I had a great Christmas. Presents consisted of about ten different books, among them The Kindly Ones from Neil Gaiman (which I, who tends to spend 600 bucks a year on books, have instantly decided is one of the greatest pieces of literature to ever get near me), The Return of the King Extended Edition (not quite as good special material as the previous two's, if you ask me), some money, lots of candy, and a few odds & ends. Also, this was the first time my mother and father celebrated Christmas together since the divorce (we traditionally celebrate with the whole family, and for the last five years, only one of them joined us), and it worked out splendidly, which I think can be called better than anything that could possibly come wrapped.

Great to hear about your Christmas, Nem0! This was actually my first Christmas with my parents in several years, and we didn't do much but there wasn't any drama and less of the usual awkward silences, so it was pretty good.

    Doot doot.

Wasn't really an xmas present, but my position at my place of work is disappearing, and they gave me an $80 gift card to borders. With that + $30, I was able to get the complete LotR trilogy of DVDs in the extended editions as well as Kurosawa's Ran.
Also: electric toothbrush, 512mb usb flashdrive, $50 gift card for marshall fields, neverwhere by neil gaiman, a totally awesome kettle, and other assorted small things.
