Ah, kind of like ours? Except we read the first two characters "Shin-nen," with the whole phrase being 新年明けましておめでとう (Shin-nen akemashi'te omedetou, Congratulations on the New Year)
I was sick, I ended up nearly passing out on the couch at around 10:30 just from feeling crappy... So I just layed around until I felt better and ended up playing MGS:Snake Eater until 4 in the morning, and then my mom got mad that I stayed up so late when I was sick.
Stayed home with the family, watched fireworks, soothed the dog that went mad as we were about to walk outside with him just as someone set off one of those rapid-fire thingeys a few steps away from the door. We let him stay inside.
I went to a club. I think it'll be the last time I do it for New Year's. It was way too crowded, and unless you were drunk or on the happy stuff, you couldn't knock people out of the way fast enough. I couldn't afford to get drunk because my little sister came with us, and I wanted to keep an eye on her (although it was me who ended up with a stalker, bizzarely enough).
As my companions grinned inanely and grinded their jaws, I couldn't help thinking that I'd rather be having a nice, hot bath instead of sitting in a very smoky, very loud room. ):
