Abnormaly Low Fps Count, Please Help.

Hi all, I just downloaded this great mod. First off, I'm having a blast! This mod really has a lot of potential <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
But, for some unknown reason, I get very crappy FPS counts. I average 20+ when there's no one around, and 10-20 at the respawn (where there is a lot of commotion and defense turrets). I never go beyond 45-50 FPS.

In games like Day of Defeat I average 70+ FPS (in action situations that is). I get 15-60 FPS in Unreal Tournament 2003 (and 99+ in Unreal Tournament).

My system is composed of:
Duron 800
Gigabyte GA7ZX-1 motherboard
Hercules GeForce 2 Ti 64MB DDR Prophet II
384Mb of PC-133 ram
Windows XP Professional

I know this is far from top of the line, but it's also VERY far from the botom. I have WAY MORE then enough memory and my video card is more then adequate for this game.

So, I'm not expecting FPS counts of constent 65+, but with my system, I shouldn't get below 30 FPS no matter what (with an average of around 50-60).

Could anyone please help?
Thanks and have a nice day!

P.S. I have all the latest patches, security fixes and whatnot for windows, and I'm using the latest detonator drivers for my videocard. I've also updated my motherboard drivers (and sound chip, since it's onboard) about 6 months ago.

    that's very wierd indeed.

Are you using the latest non-beta detonator drivers? Latest DirectX? Do you still get 70fps in DOD post-ns installation?

With your system you should be rocking for NS with no slowdown whatsoever...

most likely processor and ram. I have an athlon 1.1, Geforce 4 ti 4400, 768 MB Ram, Win XP Professional, while running NS my processor usually runs at 98 - 100% just for NS which.(the processor problem might get fixed when they patch the server). The ram usually takes about 170 MB + which could hit your ram if you are haven't disabled most of the services and startup items(my computer runs about 98 with everything off). My suggestion - probably get a little more ram if you can fit it, and wait until the servers get patched. And of course for anyone running win XP - Defrag your hard drive(XP gets very confused).
