GL>Xeno. A lot of people complain about xeno but each GL can fire 4 "xeno's" and reload. I can't believe people complain about Xeno so much. Xeno is fun but doesn't win the game.
I've seen a GL (he usually gets mines also) stay WAY far back and launch nade after nade into a hall or hive. GL's are what win games for rines. If aliens can withstand the GL's in the first few minutes then they have a chance. It only takes ONE marine to take down the hive. Either a camping GL or a good JP.
I missed whose quote it was but they were right in saying experience counts for a lot.
CO maps are where beginners get their skills and most beginners start with marines. Most alien teams get the more experienced players on CO just because they end up being the most fun to play.
Aliens win on CO because: 1. usually more experienced players. 2. If they can get just one web gorge and onos they can hang on till others level. 3. Easier to break rine morale.
Marines win because: 1. They have GL. 2. They have JP. 3. They know to travel in groups.

- The other thing is when they go fast onos with redemp and continously charge your base over and over. You're team can waste so many bullets trying to kill the same guy over and over again, only to find him coming back moments later after he redeemed.
- xenocide. BOO. Funny thing is, less players are getting it now. BUt still annoying as hell. Hate seeing idiots crowding around an area only to be blown away buy one guy.
About the latest beta and ns maps:
- chambers. dot dot ****ing dot. With the cloaking buff many alien players on pubs are going sens first and beating the living sh*t out of teams. Even with mt its tough to stop them

Unlike in classic, the marine team is able to through constantly heavy weapons and proto tech upon you. Show me a comm than can hand out hmg/gl ha/jp constantly for 5 minutes. Aliens need those extra levels to hold rines off.

However, the marines have a big advantage, because it's difficult to kill a CC, because the aliens have low DPS and use melee attacks, but it's easy to kill a hive, because the marines have high DPS, ranged attacks, and jetpacks to dodge melee attacks.
I'd say that the big equalizer is resupply. With it, you'll never get a gas or acid rocket kill. Resupply jetpackers are difficult to kill, especially if you don't have focus.
Also, the aliens can't get very far out of their tech tree. 3 points in upgrades, plus 3 points in abilities, won't let you exceed the tech tree with a fade or an onos. You don't get the 3x armor bonus of 3 hives, either. The aliens don't have any chambers, which often make a big difference in battles, while the marines don't lose any buildings that help during battles (turrets don't count, since you're not defending), except for maybe sieges.

You can kill with acid rocket and spores even with resupply... with acid rocket you don't need a secondary damage source but with spores you sort of need extra damage from somewhere to lower the health of the marine to finally get killed by spores.
I don't think I've ever died because of gas if I had resupply and I have very rarely died because of acid rocket with resupply. Sure, those attacks have taken off the last 25 HP from me, but they were never the reason why I died. I probably phrased my original statement in a confusing fashion.
thing is most fades don't get acid rocket except on extralevels servers... because its essentially a waste of 2 points
which is why you might not see it happen very often... but I find it very easy to kill marines with acid rocket alone... It takes several hits but resupply eventually doesn't come fast enough.
A meta Fade only costs 4 points - leaving 5 for upgrades, for example Focus/Celerity/Regen/Carapace. Also, Marines have to stay below it. They can just barely get a JP/HMG with resupply and a welder, thats l2 armor and l1 weapons. Anyone that decides to use any of the common counter-abilitys like MT or Scanner Sweep, any additional abilities like Mines, Hand Grenades or Catalysts or just goes for an Upgrade has to give up the HMG, resupply or the welder.
It doesn't quite compare to the agonizing decision of SoF vs Carapace, I know <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
